I made this smoothie for breakfast and loved loved loved it! It definitely satifies my peanut butter craving. I also have added some cinnamon to this smoothie and it was delicious. I even substitute the peanut butter for almond butter on occasion. So good! Thanks for the recipe!

I love your blog so much, I want to make everything! So, I've decided each weekend I'll try something new to bake. I made this smoothie tonight and it was so delicious and tasted so guilty, but really... it isn't! Thank you for sharing :)

Wow, just stumbled upon your site and have spent the past hour poking around and realizing I want to make everything I see!! Your recipies are perfectly suited for my tastes!

Anyway, I actually just had a peanut butter banana smoothie for breakfast this morning and thought I would throw in my thoughts..

I made it with silken tofu, like your comment mentioned, soy milk, a banana, a tiny bit of honey, peanutbutter, and sugar-free fat-free chocolate pudding! It was a guilt-free way to enjoy a little sweetness in the morning. I noticed your site is all about tasty food that is suprisingly (for the most part) healthy, so I thought you may be interested.

Your site has definitely become one of my favorites, I look forward to reading more!

I know this post is from quite some time ago, but my family consumes an awful lot of smoothies, so I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents.

During the summer, my boys have smoothies for breakfast almost every morning - this is one of their favorites. We normally use frozen banana (no ice needed!), peanut butter, and milk (dairy or non-dairy both work) as needed to give it the right consistency. Sometimes for an extra treat, I add a couple squirts of chocolate syrup - that is actually one of their favorite desserts.

As a general rule, I use all frozen fruit in smoothies - I actually buy and freeze fruit every week during the summer for that purpose (as I said, we drink a lot of smoothies!). For smoothies that don't have much in the way of fruit, I freeze up some yogurt or milk into ice cubes. That way, you don't water down the flavors.

My personal favorite is frozen strawberries, with just enough milk so it will blend, and a dash of vanilla (and sometimes a little sugar, depending on the sweetness of the berries). Its like drinking a strawberry milkshake, but a lot healthier!

Just discovered your blog today, and already have a list of recipes I want to try out. Keep up the great work!

Hi Hayley! Yes, the great thing about smoothies is that there seem to be endless subtitution options!

I don't know if your aversion is to the texture/taste of yogurt, or to dairy in general. But some options for this specific smoothie might be:

--To just leave out the yogurt all together
--Sub in some frozen yogurt or silken tofu instead
--Add in extra banana or extra ice

Hope that helps! :)

Could you make any suggestions as to a replacement for yogurt? I have a terrible aversion to it that I cannot seem to conquer.
